Alethia

Every claim in every application, verified.

Alethia reads what applicants say they did, checks it against public records, and confirms it with the people who were there. Your readers get evidence attached to every claim instead of a guess.

An application is a list of claims. Almost none of them get checked.

A reading season brings thousands of files, each carrying dozens of claims: awards, roles, hours, research, founding stories. Checking one by hand takes a phone call and an afternoon. Checking all of them has never been possible, so most teams verify a handful and take the rest on trust.

  • SlowOne claim means one lookup, one email, one wait. Multiply by forty claims per file and a cycle's worth of files.
  • InconsistentWhat gets checked depends on who is reading and how much time is left before committee.
  • Unfair to the honestWhen nothing is verified, an embellished application and a truthful one look the same. The applicant who did the work gets no credit for having done it.

  1. 01

    Read

Alethia reads the whole application and lists every checkable claim: the activity, the role, the dates, the scale, and who could confirm it.

    Search

Agents look where a true claim would leave a trace: archives, registries, publications, organization pages, news. Every source consulted is logged, including the ones that return nothing.

    Confirm

Where a person can confirm the claim, Alethia writes to them and reads the reply. The reply is checked too: who sent it, from where, and whether it matches the claim.

    Resolve

The claim receives one of three outcomes with its evidence attached. Your team reviews what needs a human; the rest arrives already done.

References, confirmed at scale.

Applications name the people who can vouch for them: coaches, supervisors, teachers, lab directors. Alethia writes to each of them, follows up, and reads the replies. A reply counts only when it checks out: the right person, from the right place, saying something consistent with the claim.

Re: Confirmation request · Applicant No. 2027-00418

Dear Dr. Adeyemi, an applicant to Westbrook University has listed you as a reference for a summer research assistantship in your laboratory (June to August 2025). Could you confirm the role and dates, or let us know if this is not accurate? Replying to this message is sufficient.

Yes, I can confirm. The applicant worked in my lab for nine weeks last summer on the stream ecology survey, supervised by my postdoc. Happy to say more if useful.

  • Sender domain matches the institution named
  • Role and dates consistent with the claim
  • Reference listed by the applicant, not by the lab

Your team reviews what needs a human.

Needs human review is an outcome, not a failure. When public sources disagree, when scale cannot be confirmed, when a reply arrives from the wrong place, the claim goes to your queue with everything Alethia found attached. Readers open the evidence, decide, and move on. No lookups. No chasing.

Alethia verifies. It does not score, rank, or predict.

  • No scoresAlethia never rates an applicant. It reports what verifies, what does not, and what needs a person, claim by claim, with the evidence beside it.
  • Humans decideThe platform routes; your team judges. Every outcome can be opened, questioned, and overridden by a reader, and the override is recorded too.
  • Fair to applicantsVerification protects the applicant who did the work. Outreach is courteous, says who is asking and why, and stays within what the applicant chose to list.

Built for institutional data.

Applicant files are among the most sensitive records a university holds. Read how Alethia handles them, what references receive, and what is written down.
